RSS expresses deep anguish over theft of Ram Temple donations
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has expressed deep hurt and anguish over the theft of donations collected for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. In a strongly worded statement, the RSS called for the severest punishment for those found guilty of stealing funds meant for the revered shrine.
Incident details and response
The theft came to light when discrepancies were noticed in the donation accounts maintained by the temple trust. According to sources, a significant amount of money, collected from devotees across the country, was allegedly misappropriated by a few individuals. The RSS, which has been closely associated with the Ram Temple movement for decades, termed the act as a betrayal of public faith. "We are deeply hurt by this incident. Those who have committed this crime have not only stolen money but have also hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees. They must be given the strictest punishment," said an RSS spokesperson.
Call for strict action and transparency
The RSS has urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that all those involved are brought to book. The organization also emphasized the need for greater transparency in the management of temple funds. "The Ram Temple is a symbol of faith for crores of Indians. Any attempt to tarnish this sacred cause will not be tolerated," the spokesperson added. The temple trust has assured full cooperation with the investigation and has implemented additional security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Impact on the Ram Temple construction
The theft has raised concerns about the management of funds for the ongoing construction of the Ram Temple. However, temple officials have stated that the construction work will not be affected as the stolen amount is a small fraction of the total funds raised. The temple, which is being built at a cost of several hundred crore rupees, is expected to be completed by early next year. The RSS has called on devotees to remain vigilant and continue their support for the temple's construction.
