A 26-year-old Indian national, Sandarsh Krishna, has been reported missing at the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, prompting park authorities to seek public assistance in locating him. Krishna was last seen on April 28 while riding the Rim Train along Hermit Road between Bright Angel Lodge and Mohave Point, according to park officials. He was wearing athletic clothing at the time of his disappearance.

Details of the Disappearance

The Grand Canyon National Park issued a statement requesting the public's help in finding the missing individual. "On April 28, 2026, Grand Canyon dispatch was notified of a missing person identified as 26-year-old Sandarsh Krishna. The last possible known location was along the Rim Trail along Hermit Road between Bright Angel Lodge and Mohave Point between 4 pm on April 27 and 12 a.m. on April 28," the statement said. Officials noted that Krishna did not have a vehicle and may have been using a rideshare or taxi service.

Krishna is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build, weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing athletic clothing.

Backpack Recovered

After the park authorities sought public help, a black backpack believed to belong to Krishna was turned in to hotel personnel at Bright Angel Lodge at approximately 7 am. "Investigators believe Krishna was in possession of a black backpack prior to his disappearance," park officials posted on Facebook. The individual who returned the bag is not considered a suspect, and investigators are seeking to identify him for further questioning.

National Park Service rangers released a photo of the man who returned the backpack and are asking the public for help in identifying him.
