Punjab Village Celebrates Son's Judge Appointment in Canada

Nasrali villagers are celebrating the appointment of a local son to the judiciary in Canada, marking the latest global success for a Punjab hamlet already famous for producing Bollywood royalty. Vikramjit Singh Aujla was named a judge in Canada's Ontario provincial court, triggering celebrations across his ancestral village near Khanna.

Deep Ties to the Village

Even though Aujla was born and educated in Canada after his family emigrated permanently in 1976, local residents maintain deep ties to the jurist's family. 'Vikramjit was exceptionally bright, talented, and hardworking from a young age,' said Jaswant Singh, a retired teacher and close friend of the judge's father, Nahar Singh Aujla.

A Family of Public Service

The family has a long history of public service abroad. The judge's father previously served as a Canadian city councilor, while his mother, Avtar Kaur, is a prominent community welfare activist in Ontario. Nasrali residents view the judicial appointment as part of a long-standing tradition of global achievement.

Village's Global Legacy

The village is famously the birthplace of legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who first brought international recognition to the rural enclave. 'Punjabis have once again proven their hard work, talent, and dedication on the global stage,' said local villager Hakam Singh.

This appointment adds to the village's pride, showcasing the continued success of its diaspora in various fields worldwide.
