The President of Vietnam, To Lam, is scheduled to visit Bodh Gaya on Monday as part of his two-day visit to India. This visit is regarded as a significant step in further strengthening the relationship between the two nations, which have deepened cooperation in trade, defense, connectivity, culture, and people-to-people exchanges over the past decade.
Invitation and Delegation
According to a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs, President To Lam is visiting India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior government officials, and members of the Vietnamese business community. This visit coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was established during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Vietnam in 2016.
Traffic Advisory and Security Measures
In light of the high-profile visit, the Gaya district administration has issued a special traffic advisory for Bodh Gaya and surrounding areas on Monday. Traffic restrictions will be in effect from 10 am to 3 pm to ensure smooth movement, law and order, and security arrangements during the visit.
According to the traffic plan, movement of all types of vehicles will be completely prohibited on the main roads leading to the Mahabodhi Mahavihara during this period. Vehicular movement on the Gaya-Dobhi road from Gate No. 5, airport, Tekuna farm, Domuhan, and Node-I towards the Mahavihara will remain completely suspended. Traffic will also be barred on the road from Node-I to Karmapa temple.
To minimize inconvenience to commuters, an alternative route has been designated between Gaya and Bodh Gaya via Sikaria mor, Gulariyachak, Cherki, and Sherghati route, officials said.
