Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Slashed by Rs 183.50 in Latest Revision
Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Cut by Rs 183.50

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have slashed the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 183.50, effective from July 1, 2026. This reduction brings significant relief to businesses, hotels, and restaurants that rely on commercial LPG for their operations.

Revised Prices in Major Cities

The revised price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at Rs 1,815.50, down from the previous Rs 1,999. In Mumbai, the rate has dropped to Rs 1,782.50 from Rs 1,966, while in Kolkata, the new price is Rs 1,917.50, compared to Rs 2,101 earlier. Chennai residents will pay Rs 1,967.50, reduced from Rs 2,151.

According to a statement from Indian Oil Corporation, the price cut is attributed to a decline in international LPG prices and favorable exchange rates. The revision is applicable across all states and union territories.

Impact on Businesses and Consumers

The reduction is expected to lower operational costs for small and medium enterprises, particularly in the food and hospitality sectors. Restaurant owners have welcomed the move, with many hoping it will help stabilize menu prices. A hotel association spokesperson said, "This price cut is a welcome step. It will reduce our monthly expenses and allow us to pass on some benefits to customers."

However, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged. A 14.2-kg domestic cylinder continues to cost Rs 803 in Delhi, Rs 802.50 in Mumbai, Rs 829 in Kolkata, and Rs 818.50 in Chennai.

Background and Frequency of Revision

OMCs revise LPG prices on the first of every month based on the average international benchmark price and currency fluctuations. In recent months, commercial LPG prices had seen a steady increase, making this cut a notable reversal. The last major reduction was in March 2026, when prices were lowered by Rs 112.

Industry analysts suggest that if global crude oil prices remain stable, further reductions may be possible in the coming months. The government has also been monitoring LPG prices to ensure affordability for commercial users, which are critical to the economy.

How to Check Latest Prices
