Municipal Corporation Organizes PM SVANidhi Mahotsav
The Municipal Corporation of Patiala held a special PM SVANidhi Mahotsav on Friday to promote financial inclusion and raise awareness about government welfare schemes for street vendors. Around 150 vendors from across the city participated in the event, which aimed to encourage financial independence among small business owners.
Mayor and Additional Commissioner Lead Felicitation
Mayor Kundan Gogia and Additional Commissioner Simarpreet Kaur addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of timely loan repayment and financial discipline. They felicitated vendors who had successfully cleared all instalments of their loans within the stipulated period, recognizing their commitment to financial responsibility.
Focus on Food Hygiene and Safety Standards
Food Safety Officer Dr. Gurpreet Kaur conducted an educational session on food hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards. She highlighted that maintaining hygienic practices not only protects public health but also strengthens customer confidence and supports business growth. Vendors were encouraged to adopt best practices in food handling and sanitation.
Commitment to Extending Benefits to Eligible Vendors
Additional Commissioner Simarpreet Kaur reaffirmed the Municipal Corporation's commitment to ensuring that eligible street vendors receive maximum benefits under various government schemes. She stated that awareness and facilitation camps are being organized regularly to extend these benefits to more beneficiaries.
