In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police have arrested three operatives of gangster Gurpreet Singh, alias Goldy Dhillon, and prevented a fresh attack in the city. The arrests expand the investigation into the Sector-11 pharmacy murder case.
Operation Details
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team from the Operations Cell and Police Station Crime Branch laid a trap near Mullanpur. The accused—Happy Chib, Rahul Kumar, and Vansh Sharma—were intercepted while entering Chandigarh on a motorcycle, armed with automatic pistols. Police recovered a foreign-made C47 9mm pistol, a .32 bore pistol, and nine live cartridges. A case under the Arms Act has been registered.
Link to Sector-11 Murder
Interrogation revealed that the three accused were in direct contact with Goldy Dhillon via encrypted apps. They are close associates of those already arrested for the daylight murder of pharmacy cashier Janki Das in Sector 11. Police stated that all six men traveled together from Jammu on Dhillon's instructions before splitting into two modules. The first module, comprising Sunny Mehra, Aryan Sharma, and Amit, carried out the Sector-11 killing and was arrested earlier. The second module—Happy Chib, Vansh Sharma, and Rahul Kumar—remained in Punjab awaiting orders. After the first module was busted, Dhillon directed this second module to move into Chandigarh for a new target, but police intercepted them.
Goldy Dhillon and His Nexus
Gurpreet Singh, alias Goldy Dhillon (also known as Goldi Rajpura), is a close associate of Canada-based terrorist Satinderjit Singh, alias Goldy Brar. Both are absconding and wanted by the NIA in a separate Chandigarh extortion-cum-firing case. This arrest highlights that the Brar-Dhillon nexus continues to operate armed modules in the tricity.

Warning from Chandigarh DGP
Chandigarh DGP Dr Sagar Preet Hooda issued a stern warning: "Chandigarh is no place for gangsters and criminals. Anyone who thinks of using our city for crime will be tracked down and neutralized. Stay away or face consequences." He added that the swift action demonstrates the force's unrelenting vigil against organized crime.
Widening Conspiracy
These arrests mark the second breakthrough in the Goldy Dhillon network within days. With the second module now in custody, investigators will probe deeper into the Brar-Dhillon network, weapon sources, funding, and whether further modules remain active in Punjab or Jammu.
