In the build-up to the International Day of Yoga, the Jhajjar district is set to host a large-scale yoga marathon on Monday. The event is aimed at promoting holistic wellness, healthy ageing, and a drug-free society.

Event Details

The marathon will be flagged off by former Haryana minister and BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar, marking one of the district's flagship events ahead of the global observance. The initiative forms part of the celebrations leading up to the 12th International Day of Yoga and is being organized under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Varsha Khangwal.

Outreach Campaign

District authorities have launched an extensive outreach campaign to encourage public participation and spread awareness about the transformative benefits of yoga. According to District Yoga Coordinator Pawan Deswal, this year's observance revolves around the themes "Yoga-Yukt Haryana, Nasha-Mukt Haryana" and "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," underscoring the state's commitment to fostering physical fitness, mental well-being, and social responsibility.

"The marathon is not merely a fitness event but a movement designed to inspire people to embrace a healthier lifestyle while reinforcing the message of a drug-free Haryana," said Deswal.
