Two Killed in Hit-and-Run Incidents in Gurgaon

Gurgaon witnessed two tragic hit-and-run incidents on consecutive days, resulting in the deaths of two men. The accidents occurred near housing societies in Sectors 77 and 65, leaving families devastated and police searching for the culprits.

First Incident: Sanitation Worker Killed in Sector 77

On Friday evening, a 41-year-old sanitation worker named Hiranjan Kumar lost his life after being struck by a vehicle near Emaar Palm Hills in Sector 77. The driver abandoned the damaged car at the scene and fled, according to police. Hiranjan, a resident of Shikohpur village, worked as a cleaner at Emaar Palm Hills, where his wife Madhuri is also employed.

Based on a complaint filed at Kherki Daula police station, Hiranjan and his 16-year-old son Aakash were walking to a nearby shop around 7 pm to purchase kitchen items. "When they reached near The Select Premia, opposite Palm Hills, a vehicle coming from the M3M side hit Hiranjan from behind," the complaint stated. A police officer explained, "The impact left Hiranjan critically injured. Passers-by rushed him to ESI Hospital in Sector 3, IMT Manesar, where doctors declared him dead."

The vehicle involved, bearing registration number MH14JH9046, was found at the scene. A case has been registered at Kherki Daula police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). "An investigation has begun and police are trying to trace the driver. The vehicle has been taken into custody and further action will be taken after identifying the accused," the officer added.

Second Incident: Man Dies Near Sector 65

In another accident on Saturday night, a 35-year-old man named Dharmpal died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Cosmos Society in Sector 65. A case was registered against the unknown driver, and an investigation is underway. Dharmpal, originally from Rithori village in Agra, was living as a tenant in Gurgaon.

According to a complaint filed by his brother Jitendra Singh, the incident occurred around 10:30 pm when Dharmpal was standing near the MR Estate office. Jitendra noticed a crowd gathered on the road from Ullawas towards Badshahpur and rushed to the spot. "There, he found Dharmpal lying unconscious on the road in a pool of blood. Police reached the spot and shifted him to Govt Hospital, Gurgaon, where doctors declared him dead," a police officer said. Dharmpal appeared to have been hit by an unknown vehicle, and the driver fled the scene, the officer added.

A case has been registered at Sector 65 police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS. Police are scanning CCTV footage from the area and collecting information to identify the vehicle involved in the accident.
