Gujarat Account Holders Reclaim Rs 104.65 Crore

Account holders in Gujarat have successfully reclaimed a significant amount of money. The Union government's nationwide campaign helped them recover funds that were lying unclaimed.

Massive Recovery in Three Months

Between October and December 2025, Gujarat witnessed a substantial financial return to its residents. A total of Rs 104.651 crore made its way back to rightful owners. This recovery happened under the 'Your Money, Your Right' initiative launched by the central government.

Thousands of Claims Processed

State authorities received an impressive number of claims during this period. Official records show that 26,874 claims were submitted across Gujarat. Banks carefully verified each application before approving the refunds.

The verification process ensured that only legitimate claims received approval. Once verified, banks promptly returned the amounts to the account holders. This systematic approach prevented any misuse of the campaign.

Types of Recovered Funds

The returned money included various types of unclaimed financial assets. Account holders recovered long-forgotten deposits from bank accounts. Insurance returns that had remained unpaid also formed part of the recovered amount.

Dividends from investments were returned to their owners. Mutual fund balances that investors had overlooked came back to them. Even pension amounts that had gone unclaimed found their way to beneficiaries.

Substantial Unclaimed Amounts Remain

Despite this successful recovery, significant sums still await claimants in Gujarat. Official data reveals that approximately Rs 2,836.80 crore remains unclaimed in public sector banks. Insurance companies hold another Rs 235 crore that needs to be claimed by policyholders.

Campaign Success in Numbers

The 'Your Money, Your Right' campaign has demonstrated tangible results. By December 2025, the initiative had facilitated the return of Rs 104.61 crore in Gujarat alone. This amount represents successful claims processed through the campaign.

The campaign continues to help people recover money they had forgotten or lost track of. Many residents are now more aware of their financial rights. They are actively checking for unclaimed funds in their names.

Financial institutions are cooperating fully with the government initiative. They are making genuine efforts to locate rightful owners of unclaimed money. This proactive approach benefits both account holders and the banking system.
