The apprenticeship training will span one year and will be conducted at various PNB branches nationwide, offering hands-on exposure to banking operations.
Vacancy Details and Eligibility Criteria
As per the notification dated February 5, 2026, the 5,138 apprentice vacancies are designated for the financial year 2025–26. To be eligible, candidates must hold a graduate degree from any recognized university or institute. The age limit is set between 20 and 28 years as of January 1, 2026, with age relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per government norms. Additionally, proficiency in the local language of the state or Union Territory applied for is mandatory, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
Selection Process and Stipend Information
The selection for PNB Apprentice posts will involve an online written examination, a local language test, document verification, and a medical examination. The online test, carrying 100 marks, will cover General and Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative and Reasoning Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge. Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend: Rs 12,300 for those posted in rural, semi-urban, and urban branches, and Rs 15,000 for metro branch postings.

- General, OBC, and EWS male candidates: Rs 944
- Female candidates from General, OBC, and EWS categories: Rs 708
- SC, ST, and PwBD candidates: Rs 236
