Bank Unveils New Vision and Digital Initiatives
Punjab & Sind Bank introduced a new Vision and Mission Statement during its 119th Foundation Day celebrations held in Delhi on Tuesday. The bank launched the Navjyoti mobile application for human resources, Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) services, a Digital Gold Loan facility, and the PSB Bharat Connect account tailored for central and state government employees.
Dignitaries and Leadership Attend Event
The event marked over a century of the bank's operations. Department of Financial Services (DFS) Additional Secretaries Debashish Prusty and Hari Har Mishra, along with DFS Joint Secretary Ashish Madhorao, attended. Representatives from the National Housing Bank, IFCI, LIC, and Coal India were also present.
DFS Official Praises Bank's Performance
Debashish Prusty congratulated the bank staff, noting that the domestic banking industry remains highly resilient. "The Indian Banking sector stands stronger than ever before under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the guidance of Finance Minister," Prusty said. He commended the bank for registering the highest MSME growth of 30% in the banking sector and praised the new CBDC initiative and Navjyoti application.
CEO Highlights Record Net Profit
Swarup Kumar Saha, MD & CEO of Punjab & Sind Bank, praised the staff for their dedication in achieving a historic net profit of Rs 1,322 crore. The bank's leadership emphasized the workforce's role in driving recent financial milestones.
CSR Activities and Environmental Initiatives
Alongside business and digital rollouts, the bank organized corporate social responsibility initiatives across its regional offices, including environmental programs and tree plantation drives.
