IndiGo and Air India Express Operations

IndiGo, which opened bookings last Thursday, remains the most extensive operator at launch, connecting 16 cities. The airline’s first commercial touchdown at NIA is scheduled for June 15 at 8:05 am with flight 6E 2278 arriving from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. Air India Express, the third carrier slated to operate from NIA, has yet to open bookings.

Comments from Akasa Air Leadership

Anand Srinivasan, co-founder and chief commercial officer of Akasa Air, highlighted that NIA’s modern infrastructure, multimodal connectivity, and long-term capacity potential would transform access to the National Capital Region (NCR). “As India’s aviation market expands, capacity creation at the right infrastructure nodes will be key to sustaining growth,” he said.
