Project SWASTHYA KIRAN Brings Advanced CT Scanning to Cuttack
The Art of Living Social Projects, in partnership with Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd. (HURL), has inaugurated Project SWASTHYA KIRAN at the Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital (SSCASRH) in Cuttack, Odisha. The project introduces a state-of-the-art Revolution™ Aspire Select CT Scanner, significantly upgrading the hospital's diagnostic capabilities for neurology, cardiology, oncology, trauma care, and emergency medicine. This initiative is expected to benefit thousands of patients annually, particularly those facing life-threatening conditions such as stroke, trauma, and cancer, where timely diagnosis is critical.
Addressing Diagnostic Gaps in Rural Odisha
Access to advanced diagnostic imaging remains a major challenge in Odisha. Patients from Cuttack and nearby villages often endure long journeys and extended waiting periods for CT scans, delaying diagnosis and treatment. In emergencies, such delays can have severe consequences. Project SWASTHYA KIRAN directly addresses this gap by making advanced diagnostic services available closer to underserved communities, reducing travel time and financial burden.
The partnership between HURL and The Art of Living Social Projects was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed at the Art of Living International Center in Bengaluru, in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. According to the press release, the initiative reflects Gurudev's vision of compassionate service and holistic well-being, combining advanced technology with selfless service to improve healthcare access.
Key Benefits of the Initiative
The project aims to deliver three primary benefits: First, it improves timely access to diagnostics by reducing waiting and travel time, ensuring faster imaging during emergencies like stroke and trauma. Second, it makes advanced diagnostics more affordable by providing high-quality CT scanning services closer to home, easing the financial strain on rural communities. Third, it strengthens emergency care by enabling quicker, more accurate diagnosis, supporting earlier medical intervention, and improving patient outcomes.
Beyond emergency medicine, the enhanced diagnostic capability will bolster the hospital's ability to deliver effective care across clinical specialties. Faster, precise imaging helps clinicians make informed treatment decisions, improves continuity of care, and reinforces SSCASRH's role as a key healthcare institution for Cuttack and surrounding areas.
Investment in Healthier Communities
Project SWASTHYA KIRAN is more than the installation of advanced medical technology; it represents an investment in healthier communities. By bringing timely diagnosis, quality healthcare, and renewed hope closer to home, the initiative reflects the shared vision of HURL and The Art of Living Social Projects to ensure quality healthcare reaches those who need it most.
