New Delhi: Public sector oil marketing companies on Monday announced a significant reduction in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices for international flights, slashing rates by nearly 27 percent. This move offers substantial relief to airlines and international travelers. Simultaneously, the price of commercial LPG cylinders was increased by Rs 42, reflecting continued volatility in global energy markets amid disrupted supply flows from West Asia.
ATF Price Reduction Details
ATF for international airlines will now cost $1,103 per kilolitre, down by $409 from the previous rate of $1,511.8 per kilolitre. This sharp decline follows a period of rising prices. On May 1, rates for international carriers had increased by $76.5 to $1,511.8 per kilolitre, after more than doubling in April to $1,435.3 per kilolitre. The prices of domestic LPG cylinders and ATF for domestic flights have remained unchanged.
Commercial LPG Price Hike
The 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now costs Rs 3,113.5 in the national capital. Prices vary across cities due to differences in local taxes. Additionally, the price of the 5-kg portable cylinder, which is also sold at commercial rates, has been increased by Rs 11 to Rs 821.5.
These adjustments come as global energy prices continue to fluctuate, influenced by geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions in West Asia. The government and oil companies are closely monitoring the situation to ensure stable supplies and fair pricing for consumers.
