Bata's Power Brand Eyes Rs 1,000 Crore Milestone, Hush Puppies & Floatz Follow
Bata's Power, Hush Puppies Brands Set for Rs 1,000 Crore Mark

In a significant revelation about the growth trajectory of its portfolio brands, Bata India has indicated that its popular footwear label, Power, is poised to become the company's second brand to hit the coveted Rs 1,000-crore annual business mark. This milestone is currently held solely by the umbrella Bata brand itself.

The Race to the Four-Figure Mark

This insight came directly from Bata India's Managing Director, Gunjan Shah, during a recent conversation. Shah disclosed the current financial standing of the company's key brands, painting a picture of robust growth. The flagship Bata brand leads the portfolio with a substantial valuation of Rs 1,500 crore.

Following closely is the Power brand, a household name in the value segment of the Indian footwear market, which has already achieved a size of Rs 700 crore. Not far behind is the comfort-focused brand Hush Puppies, which stands at Rs 600 crore. Shah expressed strong confidence, stating that both Power and Hush Puppies are expected to cross the Rs 1,000-crore threshold within the next three years.

Floatz: The Homegrown Speedster

The next brand in line for explosive growth is Bata's homegrown label, Floatz. According to Shah, Floatz is currently a Rs 200-crore brand and is consistently generating revenues of about Rs 50 crore every quarter. The management is optimistic that Floatz will join the Rs 1,000-crore club in approximately five years.

Floatz has already demonstrated remarkable agility in its growth journey. It holds the distinction of being the fastest brand within the Bata family to reach the Rs 100-crore milestone, achieving it in less than four years. Bata India has backed this promising product line with an investment of Rs 30-40 crore so far and plans to introduce more innovations to fuel its expansion further.

Strategic Portfolio Expansion

The planned growth of Power, Hush Puppies, and Floatz underscores Bata India's successful strategy of diversifying its brand portfolio to cater to different consumer segments and price points. While the core Bata brand continues to be the revenue giant, these other labels are becoming significant growth engines for the company.

This multi-brand approach allows Bata to capture a larger share of the Indian footwear market, from the value-conscious buyer attracted to Power, to the consumer seeking premium comfort from Hush Puppies, and the trendy, youthful audience of Floatz. The targeted investments and focus on innovation signal a clear roadmap for sustained growth beyond the legacy of the main brand.
