Patna: Energy Minister Shailesh Kumar on Thursday conducted a thorough inspection of the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) and assessed critical aspects of power management, including electricity demand and supply, grid operations, and real-time load handling across Bihar. He instructed officials to stay prepared for rising demand and ensure uninterrupted power supply to all consumers.
Briefing on Power System Operations
Officials provided the minister with a detailed briefing on the functioning of the power system, grid management mechanisms, and forecasting processes. They also apprised him of the current electricity availability and the status of transmission and distribution networks.
Discussions on Infrastructure Strengthening
During the visit, the minister engaged in discussions with officials on strategies to further strengthen the state's power infrastructure. Managing Director Rahul Kumar outlined ongoing efforts to ensure uninterrupted power supply and highlighted the pivotal role of the SLDC in monitoring and managing the electricity network.
Review of Grid Substations and Transmission Lines
The minister also reviewed the status of grid substations and transmission lines operating at various voltage levels. Describing the SLDC as the nerve centre of Bihar's power system, he emphasized the need for enhanced utilization of modern technology and continuous monitoring to improve efficiency and reliability.
