Blackstone Inc Eyes Investment in Andhra Pradesh, Visits Land Bank
Blackstone Inc Eyes Investment in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: Blackstone Inc, the world’s largest alternative asset manager, has reportedly expressed interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh. Company representatives recently visited Makavarapalem in Anakapalli district to inspect potential sites for a new project.

Land Requirements and Visit Details

According to sources, Blackstone requires 450 to 500 acres of land. The representatives examined the land bank earmarked for industries by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). A team of higher officials is also expected to visit the area in the coming weeks, sources added.

Revenue authorities had identified 4,400 acres as a land bank, including government and D patta land, in the villages of Pydipala, Papayyapalem, Peddipalem, and Burugupalem three months ago. Although the land acquisition process is yet to be completed, Blackstone’s representatives toured land parcels at Pydipala, accompanied by local tahsildar L Rama Rao, deputy tahsildar Raj Bharat, and other officials.

Infrastructure Assessment

During the visit, local authorities briefed the representatives about the basic infrastructure available. The representatives specifically inquired about the availability of power supply, water, and roads. Confirming the visit, APIIC zonal manager Narasimha Rao stated, “We don’t know what kind of project they will take up. They asked about basic infrastructure facilities such as power, water, and roads.”

Growing Industrial Interest in North Andhra

This development follows the foundation stone laying for Google’s data centre at Tarluwada in Anandapuram mandal of Visakhapatnam district. Many large companies are now showing interest in north Andhra, which is transforming into a major industrial, IT, and data centre hub for the state.

The region’s strategic location and improving infrastructure are attracting significant investment. The potential entry of Blackstone Inc further underscores the growing confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem.
