The CCI stated that it has taken cognizance of numerous complaints filed against the budget carrier concerning the significant aviation sector disruptions on various routes. "Based on the initial assessment, the Commission has decided to proceed further in the matter in accordance with the provisions of the Competition Act, 2002," the regulator declared in an official release. This move signifies a serious escalation in regulatory scrutiny of the airline's operations.

IndiGo, which commands a formidable over 65 percent share of the domestic aviation market, has been forced to cancel hundreds of flights over the past weeks. This has led to severe inconvenience for passengers, sparking public outrage and drawing the attention of multiple authorities.
