Delhi HC Freezes Sunjay Kapur Assets, Restrains Wife Priya

The Delhi High Court has ordered the freezing of assets belonging to businessman Sunjay Kapur, the son-in-law of former Union Minister Kamal Nath. The court also restrained his wife, Priya Kapur, from engaging in any third-party dealings related to the disputed properties.

Court Order Details

Justice Prathiba M. Singh passed the interim order on a plea by Kamal Nath's wife, Alka Nath, who alleged that Sunjay Kapur had fraudulently transferred properties belonging to her. The court directed the freezing of Kapur's bank accounts, shares, and other assets until further orders.

Allegations of Fraud

Alka Nath claimed that Sunjay Kapur, in collusion with Priya, sold off properties worth crores without her consent. She stated that the properties were held in her name and were meant for her grandchildren's welfare. The court found prima facie evidence of misappropriation and fraud.
