DPS Bharuch First in District to Launch India's First Mental Health Program

Delhi Public School, Bharuch has become the first school in the district to implement The Mind Sync, India's first mental health education program. The initiative integrates emotional intelligence, resilience, and student well-being into the curriculum, setting a new benchmark for holistic education in Bharuch, Gujarat.

Proactive Approach to Student Mental Health

In response to rising academic stress, digital exposure, and emotional challenges among children, DPS Bharuch has adopted a structured mental health education curriculum. The program is designed to equip students with essential life skills that extend beyond the classroom. By prioritizing emotional well-being alongside academic excellence, the school aims to address the silent battle against stress, anxiety, and mental health concerns faced by today's youth.

Curriculum Designed by Experts

The Mind Sync curriculum was conceptualized by Dr. Shivam Dubey, a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, and led by Mr. Manas Dubey, Founder of The Mind Sync. The program is built on the belief that emotional skills should be taught with the same importance as academic subjects. Designed for Grades 1-10, the curriculum blends neuroscience, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and positive psychology, and has been validated by leading mental health professionals.

Teacher Certification Ceremony

A major milestone was celebrated on June 18, 2026, during a Teacher Certification Ceremony at the school campus. The event marked the successful completion of an intensive training program, certifying 32 DPS Bharuch teachers as Mental Health Educators. The ceremony was attended by The Mind Sync leadership, including Founder Mr. Manas Dubey, Senior Program Manager Ms. Mayuri Godbole, and Program Coordinator Ms. Navya Shivani, along with renowned psychiatrist Dr. Khyati Mevada.

Teachers as Frontline Soldiers

Addressing the educators, Mr. Manas Dubey highlighted the evolving role of teachers. Drawing a historical analogy, he noted that while previous generations fought battles on borders, today's children face a silent battle against stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges. He emphasized that teachers are the first line of support and the true frontline soldiers in today's mental health epidemic.

Empowering Educators

Dr. Khyati Mevada encouraged teachers to bring emotional learning to life in classrooms. She stressed that by fostering emotional awareness and introducing simple coping tools, educators can create lasting and meaningful change in a child's life. The event also honored the school's Principal, Mr. K. Sunil Kumar, with the 'Visionary Educator Award' for his progressive leadership in bringing this transformative initiative to the Bharuch region.

Principal's Vision

Reflecting on the achievement, Mr. K. Sunil Kumar stated: "At Delhi Public School Bharuch, we firmly believe that education extends beyond academic achievement to nurture emotionally resilient, self-aware, and responsible individuals. The implementation of The Mind Sync Program reflects our commitment to holistic student development by strengthening emotional well-being, building essential life skills, and empowering students with confidence and purpose." He added that the personal honor of being named a Visionary Educator only strengthens the school's resolve to keep innovating for student well-being.

Foundation for a Healthier School Environment

The landmark afternoon concluded with educators, school leaders, stakeholders, and The Mind Sync team coming together to mark the beginning of a meaningful journey. The shared enthusiasm reflected that this was far more than the completion of a teacher training program; it marked the foundation of a healthier, more emotionally aware school environment. By prioritizing emotional intelligence alongside IQ, DPS Bharuch is preparing students to excel in examinations and equipping them with resilience, confidence, and life skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
