Emami Completes Full Acquisition of Axiom in Rs 200 Crore Deal

In a significant strategic move, Kolkata-based FMCG major Emami Ltd has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the remaining 73.5% stake in Axiom for a total consideration of Rs 200 crore. This acquisition will grant Emami full ownership of the company, having previously held a 26.5% stake.

Projected Revenue Growth and Strategic Vision

Emami anticipates that Axiom will achieve a top line of Rs 180 crore in the current fiscal year. This represents a substantial increase from the consolidated turnover of Rs 107 crore recorded in the 2024-25 financial period. The acquisition aligns with Emami's broader growth strategy focused on expanding into emerging, high-opportunity categories.

Harsha Vardhan Agarwal, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Emami Ltd, emphasized the strategic importance of this move. He stated, "Our growth strategy is centred on building presence in emerging, high-opportunity categories that align with evolving consumer preferences, particularly in the health and wellness space. Our partnership with Axiom over the past two and a half years has provided us with valuable insights and strengthened our conviction in this segment."

Axiom's Diverse Product Portfolio

Axiom boasts a robust portfolio of products that cater to the growing demand for health and wellness offerings. Key brands under the Axiom umbrella include:

  • AloFrut Beverages: Serving as the company's mainstay, AloFrut has established a strong market presence across general trade channels and government institutions.
  • Axiom Jeevan Ras Health Juices: These products are designed to meet consumer needs for nutritious and functional beverages.
  • Mukti Gold Beauty Products: Expanding into the beauty segment, this line complements the health-focused offerings.

In addition to these core products, Axiom also offers a range of mocktails, energy drinks, and ayurvedic juices, further diversifying its appeal in the competitive FMCG market.

Market Implications and Future Outlook

This acquisition positions Emami to leverage Axiom's established market presence and innovative product lines to capture a larger share of the health and wellness segment. With consumer preferences increasingly shifting towards healthier options, Emami's full control over Axiom is expected to drive synergies and accelerate growth in this high-potential category.

The move underscores Emami's commitment to strategic investments that align with long-term market trends, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the FMCG industry.
