The Indore Crime Branch has dismantled a fraudulent network accused of cheating an investor of over Rs 1.20 crore under the pretext of offering franchises for wellness centres. Two company directors were arrested from New Delhi, while two doctors allegedly linked to the racket remain at large.
Complaint and Investigation
The action followed a complaint lodged on May 26 by an Indore resident. She alleged that the operators of Delhi-based Dr Haror’s Aesthetic Private Limited defrauded her of Rs 1.20 crore by promising a franchise to set up a wellness centre.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi stated that due to the substantial amount involved, a special team was formed to investigate the case. The team was dispatched to New Delhi, where it gathered intelligence on the suspects and conducted raids at multiple locations.
Arrests Made
During the operation, Crime Branch sleuths apprehended two key accused: Debdulal Banerjee, 48, a resident of Supertech Capetown in Sector-74, Noida, and Rahul Savel, 39, a resident of Nawada in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. Investigators revealed that both were directors of the company and allegedly played a central role in running the franchise network.
Police said the accused had incorporated the company and were operating a large-scale network by luring individuals with promises of lucrative wellness centre franchises. The arrested individuals are being interrogated to uncover details about other members of the network and the whereabouts of the absconding suspects.
Ongoing Investigation
Crime Branch officials are continuing their investigation to trace the two doctors suspected of being involved in the fraud. The arrested accused are being questioned to gather further information about the network and the location of the fugitives.
