Ex-Lucknow Mayor Injured in Stray Dog Attack in Aliganj

Former Lucknow mayor Suresh Chandra Awasthi sustained injuries after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in the Aliganj area on Friday night. The incident occurred near Sector Q Chauraha, where Awasthi resides, while he was taking a post-dinner walk in the colony.

Details of the Attack

According to Awasthi, approximately 10 to 12 stray dogs suddenly surrounded him and bit him multiple times on his legs and back before he could react. He cried out for help, and nearby residents rushed to the scene to rescue him from the aggressive animals.

Residents' Concerns

Awasthi highlighted that stray dogs have become a major menace in the locality, with such attacks occurring frequently. He also alleged that a woman in the area has been feeding and sheltering 10 to 12 stray dogs without obtaining the required license from the municipal authorities.
