The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to develop an 'ODOC Park' in Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, as part of Uttar Pradesh's 'One District, One Cuisine' initiative. The park will be built on an 8,000-square-metre prime plot near Gomti Nagar Railway Station, modeled after the popular 'Dilli Haat' concept.
Features of ODOC Park
The culinary hub will house more than 40 food kiosks offering traditional delicacies from districts across Uttar Pradesh. It will include seating areas, landscaping, and sanitation infrastructure, creating a dedicated space for residents and visitors to enjoy the state's diverse cuisine.
LDA Vice-Chairperson Prathamesh Kumar stated that the project is expected to significantly boost the 'ODOC' scheme while generating employment opportunities for local vendors and artisans. During a site inspection, he directed officials to obtain a No Objection Certificate from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation to expedite the project.
Hotel Upgrade to Hyatt Centric
In another major development, the authority's budget hotel in Vikrant Khand is being upgraded to operate under Hyatt Hotels Corporation as Hyatt Centric, a five-star property. During an inspection, the Vice-Chairperson reviewed the renovation work and was informed that the repair and upgradation are likely to be completed within six months.
Once operational, the Hyatt Centric project is expected to generate approximately Rs 378 crore in revenue for the LDA.
