A major fire broke out at Kaizen Pharmaceuticals in Katha village, Baddi, around 4 pm on Friday, July 3, 2026. The blaze originated in the eye-drop manufacturing section and rapidly spread to both floors of the tin-roofed structure, causing extensive damage. No casualties were reported as workers evacuated the premises promptly.

A team of 10 firefighters, assisted by three fire tenders, rushed to the spot after receiving information at 4.05 pm. They faced significant challenges due to inadequate setbacks around the building, which hampered access. Additionally, the company's fire hydrant was found non-functional, delaying firefighting operations. Firefighters sprayed water from outside, but thick black smoke and huge flames billowed from the building. As of the filing of this report, the fire had not been brought under control.
Official Statement
Santosh Sharma, Commandant of Home Guards in Solan, stated, "A crew of 11 firemen and three fire tenders rushed to Kaizen Pharmaceuticals, Katha, after receiving information about a fire." The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
