Mohali Mayor Vows to Resolve Trader Issues, Boost Infrastructure

Mohali: Mayor Sarabjit Singh Samana on Friday assured traders that the Municipal Corporation (MC) would address market-related issues, reiterating a focus on improving civic infrastructure and services.

Meeting Highlights

At a Traders’ Association meeting held in Phase 7, Samana stated that he has been touring various areas to gather grievances and suggestions. He emphasized that this feedback would facilitate balanced, need-based development.

Senior deputy mayor RP Sharma, deputy mayor Harpal Singh Channa, district traders’ association chairman Ranjit Pal Singh, vice-chairman Tarlochan Singh Baidwan, and constituency chairman Akvinder Singh Gosal were present at the gathering.

Trader Concerns

Traders submitted memorandums outlining their key concerns. Officials from multiple departments interacted with them, explaining procedures and assuring that genuine issues would be resolved according to rules.

Among the attendees were tehsildar Gurpreet Singh, Gmada estate officer Jaswinder Singh, assistant labour commissioner Surmukh Singh, MC assistant commissioner Manpreet Singh, SDOs Arvind Kumar and Hitesh Kumar, as well as officials from excise and taxation, food and supplies, and GST departments.

Several councillors and market body representatives, along with a large number of traders, also participated in the meeting.
