MOPNG Issues Strong Rebuttal to LPG Shortage Allegations
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG) has categorically refuted what it terms as "misleading and baseless" claims circulating about a potential shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the country. In an official statement released today, the ministry moved swiftly to allay public concerns, emphasizing that the domestic supply chain for cooking gas remains fully stable and operational.
Assurance of Uninterrupted Supply to Households
Addressing the rumors head-on, MOPNG officials confirmed that there is no disruption in the availability of LPG cylinders for household use. The ministry highlighted that its monitoring systems indicate adequate stock levels across all depots and bottling plants, ensuring seamless distribution to millions of consumers. "We are committed to maintaining a consistent supply of LPG to every household, and there is absolutely no cause for alarm," a senior ministry representative stated.
Robust Infrastructure and Contingency Plans in Place
Further bolstering its stance, the ministry outlined the comprehensive measures implemented to safeguard against any supply chain vulnerabilities. These include:
- Enhanced coordination with oil marketing companies to optimize logistics and delivery schedules.
- Regular audits of inventory levels at regional warehouses to preempt any shortfalls.
- Activation of contingency protocols designed to address localized issues promptly, should they arise.
The ministry also pointed to the resilient infrastructure developed over recent years, which includes expanded storage facilities and modernized transportation networks, all contributing to the reliability of LPG distribution.
Public Advisory and Call for Vigilance
In light of the misinformation, MOPNG has issued a public advisory urging citizens to rely only on official communications from authorized channels. The ministry cautioned against panic-buying or hoarding, which could inadvertently strain the system. "We encourage the public to verify any such claims through our verified social media handles or the websites of oil marketing companies," the advisory read.
Additionally, the ministry reaffirmed its dedication to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and other initiatives aimed at ensuring energy access for all, underscoring that the government's priority remains the welfare and convenience of every household dependent on LPG for their daily cooking needs.
