Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Returns from Davos with Major Investment Announcements
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stated on Thursday that the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos served as a crucial platform for understanding evolving global industrial trends and gaining insights from top industry leaders worldwide. He emphasized that the visit was instrumental in elevating brand Andhra Pradesh on the international stage, showcasing the state's progressive policies and economic potential.
Substantial Investment Inflows and Global Interest
During the final day of the Davos summit, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran met with Chief Minister Naidu to discuss the outcomes of the visit. Naidu detailed how meetings over three days highlighted Andhra Pradesh's advancements in key sectors including green energy, technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture, and tourism. He announced that the state secured investments totaling ₹2.5 lakh crore following discussions at the 2025 Davos event.
"Global corporate groups are now demonstrating increased interest in India, particularly in Andhra Pradesh," Naidu remarked. He attributed this growing attraction to the state's dynamic youth participation, effective leadership, and investor-friendly policies that have expanded opportunities for establishing companies across various industries.
Strategic Discussions with Tata Group Leadership
On this occasion, Chandrasekaran shared his interactions with global industry leaders and personal experiences from the forum. The discussions focused on several key projects:
- The TCS development centre in Visakhapatnam
- The proposed Quantum Valley in Amaravati
- Solar power projects planned for Kurnool district
Chandrasekaran confirmed that officials from Tata Trusts would be assigned to conduct detailed discussions regarding programs proposed through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. Chief Minister Naidu urged the Tata Group to accelerate tourism projects in Andhra Pradesh and revealed that plans are underway for constructing three sports cities across the state. Chandrasekaran assured full cooperation for the timely completion of all projects undertaken by the Tata Group in Andhra Pradesh.
Extensive Engagement with Global Leaders
Throughout his Davos visit, Chief Minister Naidu participated in over 36 meetings, including three significant engagements with representatives from Israel, the UAE, and Switzerland. At the World Economic Forum venue, he met with 16 global industry leaders, featuring prominent figures such as:
- ArcelorMittal chairman Lakshmi Mittal
- Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian
- IBM CEO Arvind Krishna
Additionally, he attended more than nine specialized sessions and meetings, maximizing the platform's networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Strengthening Brand Andhra Pradesh Globally
The chief minister noted that the forum provided an excellent opportunity to evaluate the implementation of state policies designed to strengthen brand Andhra Pradesh internationally. During his visit, he also engaged with the Telugu diaspora living in Europe through dedicated community programs, fostering stronger connections with global citizens of Andhra origin.
After completing his productive four-day visit to Davos, Chief Minister Naidu departed for India and is scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad on Friday morning, bringing back significant investment commitments and enhanced global visibility for Andhra Pradesh.
