National Security Over Wealth: Solar Group Founder at CII

Solar Group Founder Advocates National Security as Top Priority Over Economic Wealth

In a compelling address at the CII Vidarbha Zonal Annual Day 2026, Padma Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal, founder of the Solar Group, asserted that national security must take precedence over wealth and resources for any country's survival. Speaking under the theme Viksit Vidarbha, Nuwal warned that economic prosperity alone is insufficient in today's global landscape, drawing parallels to India's historical status as the golden sparrow over a millennium ago.

Historical Lessons and Ethical Imperatives

Nuwal elaborated on the downfall of past civilizations, stating, "If the nation is not secure, then no matter how rich or resourceful it becomes, all that wealth is of little use." He emphasized that success should never compromise ethics, declaring "Nation above everything is the biggest religion." While acknowledging India's technological capabilities and talent, he stressed that sincerity, leadership, and loyalty are critical determinants of ultimate success.

Journey in Defence and Current Challenges

Reflecting on his entrepreneurial path, Nuwal described the transition from trading and explosives manufacturing to weapons production as fraught with significant challenges. He entered the defence sector in 2010 and highlighted ongoing issues, noting that nearly 70% of ammunition in India was imported at that time, with the situation remaining largely unchanged today. "There is still a lot of work to be done in this sector," he remarked, underscoring the need for enhanced domestic production and self-reliance.
