Project Timeline and Significance

The Noida International Airport is being developed in phases, with the first phase expected to be operational by 2026. Once completed, it will ease congestion at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and boost connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR). The airport will feature modern amenities, including shopping areas, lounges, and efficient transport links.

The state government has emphasized that the fee structure is designed to balance cost recovery and passenger convenience. The UDF cap is part of a broader strategy to attract airlines and passengers, positioning Jewar as a key aviation hub.

Reactions and Future Plans

Industry experts have welcomed the fee structure, noting that it aligns with global standards. The airport is expected to handle 12 million passengers annually in its first phase, with plans to expand capacity to 70 million by 2050. The project is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG.

Passengers have expressed optimism about the new airport, citing lower fees compared to Delhi airport. The government has assured that further details on international UDF and other charges will be announced soon.
