South Gujarat Businesses Optimistic Ahead of Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference
Business and industry circles in South Gujarat are expressing significant optimism as the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) approaches. This two-day event is scheduled to commence on Gujarat Foundation Day, with the highly anticipated possibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attendance adding to the excitement.
Prime Ministerial Presence and Roadshow Plans
A roadshow by the Prime Minister is also being strategically planned to precede the conference, cleverly coinciding with state-wide celebrations following the recent municipal and local body election results. This dual approach is expected to substantially boost investment outreach and significantly strengthen regional industrial engagement across Gujarat.
Venue Selection and Conference Focus
The conference will be hosted at AURO University, with officials specifically citing the availability of both open and indoor spaces as key determining factors in selecting this venue. This edition of the VGRC will concentrate specifically on south and central Gujarat, featuring participation from an impressive 16 districts.
Participating Districts Include:
- South Gujarat: Surat, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad, Dang, and Tapi
- Central Gujarat: Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Chhota Udepur, Dahod, Mahisagar, Narmada, and Panchmahal
Conference Objectives and Industry Expectations
The conference aims to bring together regional industry stakeholders while creating a comprehensive platform for innovation, collaboration, and investment. Officials expect the outcomes to directly feed into the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, creating a continuum of economic development initiatives.
Dinesh Navadiya, chairman of the Indian Diamond Institute, emphasized: "The event will be critically important for business and industry in the region. If the Prime Minister attends, it will provide a major boost to our economic prospects and regional development."
Programme Structure and Sector Focus
The programme will feature diverse conference sessions, buyer-seller meets, business discussions, and an extensive exhibition showcasing key sectors. These sectors include gems and jewellery, textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, petrochemicals, information technology, and the rapidly growing green energy sector.
Nikhil Madrasi, president of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated: "We expect numerous new opportunities to emerge from the VGRC. If the Prime Minister is present, we genuinely hope for key announcements specifically benefiting our region's economic landscape."
Regional Conference Continuum
Similar regional conferences have already been successfully held in Mehsana for North Gujarat and in Rajkot for the Saurashtra-Kutch region. With the south and central Gujarat edition now set to begin, industry stakeholders are actively expecting fresh partnerships and substantial investment opportunities to materialize from this strategic gathering.
