Two Workers Die in Fall at Jamshedpur Factory

Jamshedpur: Two workers died after allegedly falling from a height at a private cast iron factory in the Adityapur industrial area of Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Saturday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Ram Murmu and Lakhinder Hansda, both in their 30s. They were fixing a damaged asbestos sheet when they lost control and fell, according to RIT police station officer in-charge Sanjiv Kumar. The officer stated that their harness equipment failed, leading to the tragic incident.

The workers were being rushed to a nearby private hospital but succumbed to their injuries on the way. Two other workers were critically injured when the deceased fell onto the shop floor. The injured, Ranjit Jena and Thakur Besra, are currently undergoing treatment.
