Government Initiative Spurs Massive Shift to Piped Natural Gas

In a significant move to address supply constraints, nearly 10 lakh consumers across India have transitioned to piped natural gas (PNG) following a targeted government campaign launched last month. Rapid Activation of Connections Underway

The petroleum ministry announced on Tuesday that over 4.4 lakh PNG connections have already been activated, with nearly 5 lakh new applications currently being processed. Supply for these pending connections is expected to commence shortly, marking a swift response to the ongoing disruptions in the LPG market.

As part of the initiative, the government has launched an extensive campaign to expand the PNG infrastructure. This includes activating dormant connections and installing new pipelines to ensure broader accessibility for households and businesses alike.
