A freight train carrying automobiles caught fire near Roopaspur in Firozabad district on Wednesday afternoon. The incident took place around 4 pm within the Linepar police station limits on the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).

Incident Details

According to officials, the freight train was en route from Vithalgarh in Gujarat to Changsari in Assam when one of its wagons, loaded with cars, ignited. City Police Officer (CO) of Firozabad, Santosh Kumar Singh, confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported. The burnt wagon was subsequently detached from the train, and railway authorities are making arrangements to move it to a yard for further examination.

Impact on Operations

Train services on the other three railway tracks remained unaffected and continued normally. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
