Indore: In a major investment push, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday announced that Madhya Pradesh will host an investor summit for the Nimar region, aimed at attracting proposals for the Sukhpuri area of the Burhanpur industrial belt. To further facilitate ease of business, a new access road will be constructed in the Rehta industrial area to improve logistics and convenience for businesses.
Transforming Burhanpur into an Industrial Hub
The Chief Minister detailed several infrastructure and policy initiatives designed to transform Burhanpur into a prominent industrial hub. He stated that land has been identified for industrial use and policies are being implemented to support new enterprises, promoting local industry.
Significant Growth in MSME Sector
During an interaction with industrialists, Yadav highlighted the significant growth in Burhanpur's MSME sector, noting that the district's business turnover rose from Rs 436 crore in 2022-23 to approximately Rs 802 crore. He emphasized the state's commitment to boosting investor sentiment.
Financial and Policy Incentives
The state has released the first installment of Rs 350 crore for the Nimbola industrial cluster. Additionally, several industry-friendly policy changes were outlined, including the abolition of the tax on Yellow Lentils (Tuvar dal) and proposed tax relief for the local cotton industry. The Chief Minister announced that the State Merchant Welfare Board will be established at the district level to address local business grievances.
Focus on Farmer Welfare
With 2026 designated as the Year of Farmer Welfare, special attention is being given to Burhanpur's banana growers. The CM assured that the state government is committed to supporting all sectors for balanced regional development.
