National Household Income Survey Training Initiative Launches in Lucknow
A significant two-day regional training camp for officers tasked with conducting field work for the upcoming National Household Income Survey officially commenced on Wednesday. This preparatory exercise is scheduled to run from April 1 of this year through March 31 of the following year, marking a critical phase in the survey's implementation.
Organizational Framework and Inauguration
The training camp is being executed by the Field Operations Division of the National Statistical Office, which operates under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. The inauguration ceremony was held at Lucknow University's second campus, presided over by Dr. Suchita Gupta, Deputy Director General of the Regional Office, who served as the chairperson.
Manoj Kumar, Deputy Director General of CQCD at the Regional Office in Lucknow, graced the event as the chief guest, underscoring the administrative support for this national endeavor.
Survey Objectives and Historical Significance
During her address, Dr. Suchita Gupta highlighted the paramount importance of the National Household Income Survey, noting that this marks the first time such a comprehensive study is being conducted across the country. She elaborated that the survey is designed to meticulously study and analyze various dimensions of household income.
The primary goal is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the structural distribution of income among households, which will serve as a foundational dataset for economic planning and social policy development.

Purushottam Verma, Director of the CQCD Zonal Office in Lucknow, further elaborated on the operational aspects. He pointed out that the success of any large-scale survey heavily relies on public cooperation and the provision of accurate information by respondents.

Verma made a heartfelt appeal to families across the nation to assist survey teams during their visits. He provided clear assurances regarding data security, stating that all information shared by households will be kept strictly confidential.
