Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ganga Expressway, the country's longest expressway, marking a milestone in India's infrastructure development. The expressway, stretching 594 kilometers from Meerut to Prayagraj, is expected to transform the region's connectivity and economic landscape.
CM Yogi Adityanath Highlights Expressway's Role in Development
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that expressways are becoming the foundation of all-round development. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, he stated, "The government is committed to ensuring that every project whose foundation is laid is also inaugurated." CM Yogi noted that expressways are emerging as a major medium for farmers' prosperity, youth employment, preservation of faith and culture, and overall growth of the state.
Farmers and Districts Contribute to Construction
More than 1 lakh farmers from 12 districts contributed to the construction of the Ganga Expressway. The Chief Minister highlighted that this collaborative effort underscores the project's inclusive approach. Integrated industrial clusters and logistics hubs being developed along the expressway will open new avenues for investment and employment, further boosting the state's economy.
The Ganga Expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj, enhance trade and commerce, and promote tourism along the route. The project aligns with the government's vision of improving infrastructure and fostering balanced regional development.
This inauguration reaffirms the government's dedication to completing major infrastructure projects that drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for citizens. The expressway is poised to become a catalyst for prosperity in Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
