Tata Motors has officially brought back a legend, launching the all-new 2025 Tata Sierra in the Indian market. This marks the triumphant return of an iconic nameplate that was discontinued back in 2003, reimagined for the modern era with a bold new design and cutting-edge technology.
Pricing, Variants, and Availability
The company had earlier revealed a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, Tata has announced detailed pricing for most of the seven variants on offer. The lineup includes Smart Plus, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Adventure Plus, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus trims, with prices for the top two variants still awaited.
Interested buyers can officially book the SUV online or at any Tata dealership starting December 16, 2025. The first deliveries to customers are scheduled to commence from January 15, 2026. The SUV will be available in six vibrant colour options: Bengal Rouge (Red), Andaman Adventure (Yellow), Coorg Clouds (Silver), Munnar Mist (Green), Mintal Grey, and Pristine White.
Modern Design with Classic Cues
The 2025 Sierra makes a dramatic visual statement while paying homage to its ancestor. The front features a prominent 'Sierra' badge, a full-width connected LED light bar, a textured grille, and main LED headlamps positioned lower on the bumper with vertically stacked fog lamps.
The most distinctive design element is the signature Alpine window-inspired silhouette on the sides, a direct nod to the original model. However, Tata has modernised it with a partially blacked-out B-pillar and a contrasting black roof, creating a sleek floating-roof effect enhanced by a darkened C-pillar. The rear continues the boxy, upright stance with connected taillights, a short overhang, and a high-set bumper.
Other exterior highlights include flush door handles, blacked-out ORVMs, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, body cladding, and skid plates, cementing its rugged SUV character.
Feature-Packed Cabin and Powertrain Options
Step inside, and you are greeted by a cabin that takes inspiration from other Tata models but stands out with its innovative triple-screen layout spanning the dashboard. This includes a digital instrument cluster for the driver and a pair of infotainment screens that can share content.
The feature list is extensive and impressive:
- iRA connected car tech with a Snapdragon chip and 5G connectivity.
- HypAR Head-Up Display, a 12.3-inch passenger screen, and a 10.5-inch centre touchscreen.
- A 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos and a soundbar.
- Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags for safety.
- Ventilated & powered front seats with memory, a powered gesture tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control.
Under the hood, the new Sierra offers buyers a choice of three engine options:
- A 1.5-litre Kryotec turbo diesel producing 118 hp and 280 Nm of torque.
- A newly developed 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 106 hp and 145 Nm.
- A 1.5-litre Hyperion turbo petrol that delivers 160 hp and 260 Nm.
Tata Motors has also confirmed that an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) model will be launched soon, expanding the Sierra's capability appeal. The revival of the Sierra represents a significant move by Tata Motors to blend nostalgia with futuristic innovation, aiming to capture the hearts of a new generation of SUV enthusiasts in India.
