The company's Chairman, Dheeraj Hinduja, hailed the new plant as a landmark achievement for both the state and the automotive giant, underscoring its ambition to break into the elite league of the world's top 10 commercial vehicle manufacturers.

Dheeraj Hinduja described the advanced electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing unit as a clear demonstration of what is possible when a definitive vision is paired with prompt and decisive action. He revealed an impressive fact: the entire project, from the initial acquisition of land to the start of production, was completed in a mere 14 months. This speed, he suggested, is symbolic of a new era of industrial execution in India.

Hinduja was effusive in his praise for the state of Uttar Pradesh, citing key factors that made it an increasingly attractive hub for industry. He specifically highlighted the state's modern infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, robust law and order situation, and the proactive approach of the government. Tracing the company's legacy back to its founding in 1948, Hinduja stated that Ashok Leyland has consistently aligned itself with national development priorities, playing a crucial role in moving people and goods across the country. The new Lucknow plant is designed with inherent flexibility to adapt to future technologies, including electric powertrains, alternative fuels, and other emerging propulsion systems, ensuring its long-term relevance.
