Axiscades Secures Rs 100 Crore Defence Order for Ashwini Radar

Axiscades Technologies Secures Major Defence Electronics Contract

Bengaluru-based Axiscades Technologies has clinched a significant defence electronics order worth Rs 100 crore. The company's subsidiary, Mistral Solutions, will supply critical signal and data processing units over the next two years.

Details of the Defence Order

The order forms part of the low-level transportable radar Ashwini programme. This programme is currently under development by the Defence Research and Development Organisation and Bharat Electronics Limited. Mistral Solutions will provide signal and data processing units along with necessary spares.

Deliveries will occur over a two-year timeframe. This schedule gives Axiscades clear medium-term revenue visibility. The company expects steady income from this substantial contract.

Importance of the Ashwini Radar System

The LLTR Ashwini represents a mobile, low-level surveillance radar system. It is designed to detect and track various aerial threats effectively. These threats include unmanned aerial vehicles, helicopters, and low-flying fighter aircraft.

Mistral's signal and data processing units will serve as a critical subsystem within this radar. They will handle high-speed signal and data processing under demanding operational conditions. The company emphasized this point in an official statement.

Technical Specifications and Strategic Significance

The contract includes liquid-cooled processing units built for extreme environments. These units must operate reliably under challenging conditions. Axiscades noted that this order strengthens its embedded systems portfolio significantly.

Embedded systems typically command higher margins than traditional engineering services. This contract win positions Mistral Solutions to access a larger pipeline of indigenous defence electronics programmes. These programmes are led by DRDO and BEL as India pushes for greater self-reliance in critical military technologies.

Leadership Perspective on the Achievement

C Manikandan, CEO of Mistral Solutions, commented on the order's significance. He stated that it underscores the firm's role in supporting defence indigenisation efforts. The company is contributing core technologies to next-generation military systems through this contract.

This development highlights the growing capabilities of Indian defence technology companies. It also demonstrates the government's commitment to boosting domestic manufacturing in the defence sector.
