Axiscades Technologies Secures Major Defence Electronics Contract

Axiscades Technologies, headquartered in Bengaluru, announced on Monday that it has secured a significant defence electronics order valued at approximately Rs 100 crore. The contract was awarded to its subsidiary, Mistral Solutions, under the Low-Level Transportable Radar (LLTR) Ashwini programme.

Details of the LLTR Ashwini Programme Order

The order forms part of the indigenous LLTR Ashwini radar system currently under development by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). Mistral Solutions will supply Signal and Data Processing Units (SDPUs) along with associated spare parts.

Deliveries for this contract are scheduled to take place over a two-year period. This timeline provides medium-term revenue visibility for Axiscades Technologies, strengthening the company's financial outlook.

Critical Role in Aerial Threat Detection

The LLTR Ashwini represents a mobile, low-level surveillance radar specifically designed to detect and track various aerial threats. These threats include unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), helicopters, and low-flying fighter aircraft.

According to Axiscades, Mistral's SDPUs will serve as a critical subsystem within the radar system. These units will handle high-speed signal and data processing under demanding operational conditions, ensuring reliable performance in the field.

Advanced Technology and Operational Capabilities

The contract includes liquid-cooled processing units engineered to operate effectively in extreme environmental conditions. This requirement highlights Mistral's established capabilities in high-performance embedded computing for defence applications.

Axiscades emphasized that this order significantly strengthens its embedded systems portfolio. The company noted that such projects typically command higher profit margins compared to traditional engineering services, potentially improving overall profitability.

Strategic Positioning for Future Defence Programmes

This contract win positions Mistral Solutions to access a larger pipeline of indigenous defence electronics programmes led by DRDO and BEL. This strategic advantage comes as India continues its push toward self-reliance in critical military technologies.

C Manikandan, CEO of Mistral Solutions, commented on the significance of the order. He stated that the LLTR Ashwini contract underscores the firm's role in supporting defence indigenization efforts. The company is contributing core technologies to next-generation military systems through this important project.

The announcement reflects growing opportunities in India's defence electronics sector as the country focuses on developing domestic capabilities for national security needs.
