Alwar: Harpal Yadav (31), brother of Ramco Metal factory owner Devendra Yadav, succumbed to severe burn injuries during treatment at a Delhi hospital on Friday, a day after a devastating fire broke out at two factories in Bhiwadi's UIT industrial area.
Incident Details
On Thursday around 2 pm, an oil tanker placed atop the Ramco Metal Factory exploded, triggering a massive fire. Five people, including Devendra Yadav and Harpal, were injured in the blast. The blaze quickly spread to the neighboring Alshok LLP unit after oil from the tanker spilled over following the explosion.
Evacuation and Injuries
Workers were evacuated through rear exits and other safe routes, while some managed to escape by jumping over boundary walls. Besides the two brothers, employees Dinesh and Chhatar Singh, along with another person, sustained burn injuries. Due to the severity of their injuries, Devendra Yadav, Harpal Yadav, and Dinesh were referred to a Delhi hospital. Harpal succumbed to his injuries, while Chhatar Singh is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhiwadi.
Victim Profile
Harpal, a chartered accountant by profession, ran a coaching center in Bhagat Singh Colony and also managed the factory’s accounts. According to family members, he had visited the factory for work and was sitting with his brother in the office when the accident occurred. He got married in 2018 and is survived by his wife and two daughters.
