Looking ahead, the Ministry of Railways has set an ambitious target of 642 electric locomotives for BLW in the financial year 2026-27, signaling continued growth and innovation.
Impressive Year-on-Year Growth and Target Exceedance
In comparison, BLW produced 477 locomotives in the previous financial year (2024-25), making this year's production an impressive increase of approximately 20%. Specifically, in the electric locomotives segment, BLW exceeded its target of 553 units for FY 2025-26 by manufacturing 558 units, showcasing its operational efficiency and commitment to meeting national demands.
