General Manager Ashutosh Pant attributed this milestone to BLW's technical excellence, efficient management, and the relentless efforts of its officers and employees. Looking ahead, the Ministry of Railways has set an ambitious target of 642 electric locomotives for BLW in the financial year 2026-27, signaling continued growth and innovation.

Impressive Year-on-Year Growth and Target Exceedance

In comparison, BLW produced 477 locomotives in the previous financial year (2024-25), making this year's production an impressive increase of approximately 20%. Specifically, in the electric locomotives segment, BLW exceeded its target of 553 units for FY 2025-26 by manufacturing 558 units, showcasing its operational efficiency and commitment to meeting national demands.
