The incident occurred at 10:45 AM at Nandosal Industries, situated within the Tarapur Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) zone.

Vivekanand Kadam, chief of the Palghar District Disaster Management Cell, provided critical details about the accident. "A company worker suffered around 60% burn injuries in a boiler explosion and subsequent fire," he stated. The injured worker has been identified as Harishchandra Ambedkar, who was promptly admitted to a hospital in Boisar for emergency medical treatment.
Upon receiving alerts about the explosion, local firefighting teams rushed to the scene. They successfully managed to douse the flames, preventing further damage or injuries.
