Easy Cater, an Indian food-tech startup, has officially announced the nationwide rollout of its hyperlocal food delivery platform, beginning with Vadodara as its initial market. The platform went live on June 17, 2026, and has already garnered over 33,500 downloads in its first few weeks. Building on this momentum, the company has started onboarding restaurant partners in Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur, Indore, and Nagpur, targeting India's growing Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.
Transparent and Commission-Light Model
Easy Cater aims to address the unsustainable margin pressures faced by restaurants and the hidden markups paid by consumers on legacy platforms. The startup offers a transparent, commission-light alternative that enhances profitability for restaurant partners by eliminating heavy platform commissions. This fair-pricing architecture allows restaurants to maintain competitive online prices and pass savings directly to consumers.
Focus on Emerging Urban Hubs
While dominant legacy platforms concentrate on primary tier-1 mega-metros, Easy Cater targets emerging hubs that drive India's next food delivery evolution. According to industry research, these high-growth markets account for nearly 48% of all food delivery orders by volume in India, with the total market projected to grow to USD $270 billion by 2034.
Community-Centric App Features
The platform includes culturally rooted features designed to showcase local culinary diversity:
- Local Legends: A dedicated space honoring long-established brick-and-mortar institutions that have built the city's food culture over decades.
- Street Food: A portal integrating local street vendors into the formal digital economy, offering direct access to roadside flavors.
- Value Picks: A budget-friendly curation of meal options ranging from ₹25 to ₹150, maximizing affordability.
- Women Owned: An initiative featuring culinary businesses exclusively owned by women, from formal restaurants to street food stalls.
- Flavor 52: A weekly discovery engine that curates a new taste profile or unique culinary flavor every week.
Early Success and Expansion Strategy
With over 1,000 restaurant partners already onboarded in Vadodara, the platform has united celebrated culinary institutions under a homegrown digital framework. The app also features a 'Homegrown Interface' and a Diamond Loyalty Programme that rewards users with 1 point per Rupee spent.
"Our goal wasn't just to build another delivery app; we built a transparent food commerce ecosystem," said Nimish Kadakia, Chief Technology Officer of Easy Cater. "By keeping our technology lean and our merchant tools powerful, we're able to eliminate hidden fees and maximize bottom-line returns for our restaurant partners."
Deliberate City-by-City Rollout
Rather than an unsustainable blanket launch, Easy Cater is executing a deliberate, city-by-city playbook, deeply embedding itself into each market before expanding further. The platform is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
