In a significant move towards greener industrial practices, ESL Steel Limited has forged a strategic agreement with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for the supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to its manufacturing facility located in Bokaro. The company announced this pivotal shift on Thursday, highlighting its commitment to replacing conventional fuels with a cleaner alternative for specific plant operations.

The formal agreement was signed in the presence of senior leadership from both corporate entities. The signing ceremony was attended by IOCL executive director Manoj K Sharma and general manager Amiya Kumar Behera. Representing ESL Steel was the company's deputy CEO, Ravish Sharma. This collaboration is designed to cater to select operational applications within the steel plant, initiating a transition away from more polluting fuels.
