Finolex Cables Sets Ambitious Revenue Target for Tamil Nadu Market
Finolex Cables, a prominent manufacturer of electrical and telecommunication cables, has announced a strategic goal to generate Rs 1,000 crore in revenue from Tamil Nadu by the fiscal year 2026-27. This ambitious target is underpinned by the state's robust industrial expansion, significant infrastructure investments, and a surge in manufacturing activities.
Strong Market Position and Growth Projections
The company revealed that Tamil Nadu plays a pivotal role in its South India operations, which collectively account for more than 40% of its total revenues. In the previous fiscal year, Finolex Cables reported overall revenues of Rs 5,319 crore. For the upcoming fiscal year, revenue from Tamil Nadu is projected to range between Rs 750 crore and Rs 800 crore, reflecting a steady upward trajectory.
Demand in the state has been growing at double-digit rates, fueled by several key sectors. Industrial manufacturing, data centers, large-scale infrastructure projects, and real estate development are primary drivers of this growth. In a recent statement, the company emphasized Tamil Nadu's critical importance to its business strategy.
Key Drivers of Expansion
Amit Mathur, President of Sales and Marketing at Finolex Cables, highlighted the state's potential. "Tamil Nadu remains a critical pillar for Finolex Cables. With continued industrial expansion, the growth of EV manufacturing, and infrastructure development, we see strong potential to scale our business further," he stated.
The state's emergence as a major hub for automobile and electric vehicle manufacturing is particularly significant. This trend is boosting demand for specialized products, including:
- Automotive cables
- Battery-related solutions
- Electrical and industrial cabling from various industrial clusters
Agricultural Sector and Distribution Network
In the agricultural domain, Tamil Nadu stands as Finolex Cables' largest market for irrigation wires. The company commands an impressive market share of nearly 35% in this segment, underscoring its strong foothold.
To support its growth objectives, the Pune-headquartered firm has established an extensive distribution network across Tamil Nadu. This network includes:
