Ahmedabad: Gujarat is undergoing a significant digital transformation, with e-commerce momentum accelerating across the state. According to data released by Amazon, new seller registrations have increased by a substantial 35% year-on-year. This growth signals a robust shift toward online retail and expanding digital adoption among businesses throughout Gujarat.
Amazon Expands Zero-Referral Fee Program Tenfold
The e-commerce giant has dramatically expanded its zero-referral fee initiative, which now encompasses over 12.5 crore products. This represents a tenfold increase from the 1.2 crore products covered in 2025. The financial incentive specifically applies to items priced below Rs 1,000 across popular categories including fashion, home goods, kitchenware, and electronics accessories.
Reduced Shipping Fees Support Small Entrepreneurs
To further lower barriers for small-scale entrepreneurs, Amazon has implemented a 20% reduction in Easy Ship fees for products priced under Rs 300. This strategic move aims to make logistics more affordable and accessible for emerging businesses looking to establish their online presence.
Major Hubs Drive Digital Catalog Expansion
Gaurav Bhatnagar, director of sales at Amazon India, highlighted that sellers in key urban centers like Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot are rapidly expanding their digital catalogs. This expansion demonstrates how local businesses are effectively leveraging competitive fee structures and enhanced logistical support to reach a broader national audience.
