Historic Gardens to Get Rs 90 Crore Makeover
The Haryana Tourism Department is set to renovate the historic Yadavindra Garden in Pinjore and Tikkar Taal in Morni Hills at a cost of Rs 90 crore, aiming to transform them into international-standard tourist destinations. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini issued directions during a review meeting with senior tourism officials.
Wedding Destination and Luxury Hotel Planned
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Wed in India' vision, the CM directed the development of a modern 'one-stop destination for weddings' near Yadavindra Garden. This high-end venue will feature convention and exhibition centres along with modern amenities. Additionally, a luxury hotel will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, complete with a state-of-the-art rooftop helipad to facilitate guests from across the country and abroad.
Preservation and New Attractions
Commissioner and Secretary of Heritage and Tourism, Dr Amit Agrawal, stated that the architectural heritage will be preserved throughout the redevelopment. Without altering the garden's original character, new attractions such as state-of-the-art musical fountains, a landscaped butterfly park, and an aquarium will be created. The illuminated landscape and enhanced night-time ambience are expected to become major tourist draws.
Adventure Upgrades at Tikkar Taal
Existing facilities at Tikkar Taal in Morni Hills will be renovated to make it a premier destination for adventure enthusiasts. The redevelopment includes upgrades to the adventure park, boating facilities, and other tourist attractions, according to a government spokesperson.
Employment and Revenue Boost
A government spokesperson said the initiative is expected to generate employment opportunities and increase the state's revenue. The proposal for restoration, renovation, and modernisation of both key tourist destinations has been prepared.
